IPSEA SEND LAW TRAINING DAY FOR PARENTS/CARERS £65 

Are you a parent or carer of a child with SEND? Do you want to learn more about the law relating to their education and training?

Our parent/carer SEND Law Foundation training day may be what you are looking for.

This one day introductory level course is aimed specifically at parents and aims to provide them with an overview of the law relating to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (“SEND”). The course will provide information on the law, guidance, policy and practice and but also aims to show parents how they can begin to use the law to gain support for their child with SEN. The course relates to the law as it applies in England. This is a condensed one day course specifically tailored to parent groups and is delivered during school friendly hours.  

By the end of the course you will have an understanding of the following areas of law:

  • The law on SEND – where to find it and some key legal definitions

  • Duties of schools towards children with SEND

  • The Local Offer

  • The process towards obtaining an EHC plan, including EHC needs assessments

  • What should an EHC plan contain?

  • Naming a school in an EHC plan

IPSEA SEND Law Foundation E-learning for parents/carers £79

We have created a Foundation level e-learning training course covering the law relating to the education and training of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN). Our foundation level SEN legal training costs £79 per person and has 10 online modules. In recent feedback 19 out of 20 people who have completed this e-learning describe the course content as "Good" or "Excellent." IPSEA SEND Law Updates £29 

We are also offering the opportunity to subscribe to IPSEA's SEN Law updates. These will cover the law relating to the education and training of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN). You will receive at least one update each term for 12 months. These updates will be written by IPSEA's Legal Team. They will not be publicly available - they will only be sent to those who subscribe to them. The income we receive from subscribers will be used towards funding our free and independent services. Subscription to IPSEA's 'SEN Law: Updates' for 12 months costs £29.
