This one day training is designed specifically for college staff, providing an overview of the special educational needs and disability (SEND) legal framework.

Please note, some of the content of this training is less relevant for college staff in wholly independent colleges or non-college post-16 settings - please contact us to discuss this before making a booking.   

This training covers:

• An introduction to SEND law
  - Key legal definitions
  - College duties under the Children and Families Act 2014
  - An introduction to Education Health and Care (EHC) plans
• Naming a college in an EHC plan
  - Requesting a college
  - The duty to consult
  - The duty to admit
• EHC plan annual reviews
  - The role of the local authority
  - The role of the college
  - Outcomes of the annual review process

By the end of the training, attendees will have a sound understanding of the framework of SEND law and the legal obligations colleges have towards children and young people with SEND. 

This training relates to the law as it applies in England.

Our e-learning usually retails at between £350 and £700 per level depending on your organisation status, but is available to purchase for £249 per level when booked with this training day - or £599 if all three levels are purchased together. Payment can be made via debit or credit card up to 24 hours prior to the start of this training. Please follow the booking details below if paying via this method. If you require an invoice for this webinar, please complete our invoice request form. Payment by invoice: 30 days or 5 days before the event, whichever is the earlier. Cheques are no longer accepted as a form of payment.
