Alastair recently turned 18 and, inspired by a passion for fitness, wanted to set himself this challenge to thank IPSEA for helping him and his family to secure the education support he needed to thrive. Alastair’s family used IPSEA’s helpline services and accessed our training to help him secure the Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan he was legally entitled to. EHC plans describe a child or young person’s SEND, the support they need and the outcomes they would like to achieve. He told us this was crucial to accessing a suitable school environment and the right education to meet his needs. Alastair’s EHC plan significantly improved his school learning experience and overall wellbeing. He hopes that by sharing his experience, he will be able to highlight the importance of organisations like IPSEA to help uphold children and young people’s legal rights and secure positive educational outcomes for children and young people with SEND. If you’ve been inspired by Alastair’s story, you can take on a challenge of your own. Manage Cookie Preferences
