IPSEA is the leading organisation providing independent legally based advice and support for families of children with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND).

The advice and support we offer is free and confidential, and ensures that families understand their children’s legal rights and entitlements, empowering them to enforce those rights to secure the right education for their child.

But we cannot deliver these important services and support without fundraising efforts and donations from members of the public.

During 2016/17 we supported over 6,500 families on our Advice Line, Tribunal Helpline and through our Tribunal Support Service. We want to be able to help even more families of children and young people with SEND. With your support, we’ll be able to offer advice to more families on our helplines, provide further casework support, and help an even greater number of people.

How your money is spent

Any donation you make is hugely appreciated, as it can make a genuine difference to people's lives. Just a £5 donation could cover the cost of a call to our Advice Line or Tribunal Helpline, whilst larger donations from fundraising efforts could contribute towards the £1,500 it costs to train a new IPSEA volunteer.

You can also support our work by fundraising for IPSEA, or take a look at the other ways you can give.

How we work

We are a national charity, run by a small team of staff from our head offices in Saffron Walden, Essex.

All of the advice services we offer are delivered by our 200 professionally trained volunteers operating across the country, who help children and young people to obtain the education that they are legally entitled to.
