Course: Foundation  SEND Law One Day Training

Summary: This one day introductory level course is aimed specifically at parents and aims to provide them with an overview of the law relating to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (“SEN”). The course will provide information on the law, guidance, policy and practice and but also aims to show parents how they can begin to use the law to gain support for their child with SEN.The course relates to the law as it applies in England. This is a condensed one day course specifically tailored to parent groups and is delivered during school friendly hours.  

Cost:

  • £1,200 for local parent groups and charities with an income of less than £200k
  • £1,900 for schools and charities with an income exceeding £200k
  • £2,500 for public and private sector

In an average group of 25 participants, this works out at £48, £76, £100 per head respectively.

Level 1 / Elementary SEND Law One Day Training

Summary:This one day introductory level course aims to provide an overview of the law relating to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (“SEN”). The course will provide information on the law, guidance, policy and practice but also aims to enable the participants to see how the law can be applied to support parents and young people with SEN.  The course relates to the law as it applies in England.

Cost:

Course: Level 2 / Intermediate SEND Law One Day Training

Summary: The aim of this intermediate level course is to provide a more in-depth knowledge of certain areas of law relating to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (“SEN Law”).This course also aims to provide an introduction to the elements of health and social care law which would be relevant to a child or young person who had or wished to have an Education Health and Care plan (“EHC plan”).The course relates to the law as it applies in England.

Cost

  • £1,500 for local parent groups and charities with an income of less than £200k
  • £1,900 for schools and charities with an income exceeding £200k
  • £2,500 for public and private sector

Course: SEND Tribunal One Day Training

Please note that we cannot deliver this training to Local Authority staff.

Summary:This one day course is aimed specifically at those advising or representing parents and covers the essentials of preparing and presenting a case in the First Tier Tribunal (“SEND Tribunal”)  It is anticipated that participants will have already completed other IPSEA training (online or face-to-face) and as such, this course assumes some prior knowledge of SEN law but aims to equip participants with knowledge of law, practice and procedure necessary to conduct hearings in the SEND Tribunal.

Cost:

  • £1,500 for local parent groups and charities with an income of less than £200k
  • £1,900 for schools and charities with an income exceeding £200k
  • £2,500 for public and private sector

Please note that this training can only be delivered to Local Authority staff.

Summary:This one day course aims to provide an overview of the law relating to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (“SEN”). It has been specifically tailored for local authority staff and covers the main elements of the SEN legal framework, as well as other related areas of law.The course relates to the law as it applies in England.

Cost:

  • £2,500
