Consultancy Services

For professionals advising parents and young people or those who are supporting them such as schools, colleges, parent groups or charities; in addition to our training courses, we can also offer a bespoke consultancy service. Such a service might be appropriate for those seeking clarification of the law in relation to a particular parent's situation, or could be more general advice to help improve the support you give to parents and young people. Recent examples of work carried out have included:

  • Visiting a group of parent supporters to review the paperwork they had prepared for a number of appeals to the SEND Tribunal in which they were supporting and representing parents. We reviewed the paperwork and provided tactical advice on how to prepare and present the particular appeals, as well as future similar appeals.
  • Preparing written advice for a parent carer network on Local Authority proposals to introduce a non-statutory scheme which would distribute funding for SEN support instead of parents requesting an EHC needs assessment.

This consultancy service could also be used to provide individual telephone support or advice on a specific piece of casework.

These consultancy services would be provided by a member of the IPSEA Legal team. The fee for such services is calculated on an individual basis depending on the time which would be involved in carrying out the work. Please contact us if you would like to discuss using this service.
