"I got in touch with IPSEA after my local authority refused to grant my son a statement. I spoke with a volunteer on IPSEA’s Advice Line who helped give me the courage to stand up to them.

She talked me through my son's case and guided me through the legal jargon. She was patient and kind and gave up her time (over and above what she needed to).

As a result of IPSEA’s advice, I took my LA to tribunal and won. My son now has a full boarding place at a specialist dyslexia school school and is thriving. He's gone from hiding under desks, to reading books and playing in the girl’s netball team (he doesn't like rugby!). I'm so grateful to the IPSEA volunteer who gave up her time to help me when no one else would."
