Delivered by a member of IPSEA's legal team, the training day covers the following topics:

  • Inclusion
  • The duty to specify in an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan
  • Annual reviews
  • Home to school transport
  • Mental capacity
  • Health and social care
  • Mediation

By the end of the training, we would expect attendees to be able to identify cases where more complex support is required, and to be able to begin supporting parents, carers and young people in such situations.

Whilst this face-to-face course is suitable as a stand-alone course, it is designed to complement our Level 2 online learning which covers the topics in further detail. We would expect a participant to complete this online training in addition to the face to face course in order to be able to confidently advise and support families of children and young people with SEND.
