Training For parents and carers Free SEND law training: Essex residents EHC plan masterclass (free training day): Essex residents Date: Wednesday 9th February Duration: 5.5 hours (10.00 - 15.30, including breaks and Q&A) Format: virtual, via Zoom webinar Thanks to a grant from The Ark Centre, we are pleased to be offering our one day EHC plan masterclass (obtaining a plan) training for free to parents and carers of children with SEND who are residents of Essex. This one day training is designed specifically for parents, carers and supporting family members of children with special educational needs and disabilities, and has been developed to guide families through the process of obtaining an EHC plan. From requesting an EHC needs assessment, through to the information a plan should contain and what to do if you’re not happy with the final plan, this training day will help attendees to navigate the system, supporting them to make informed and positive decisions regarding their child’s education and getting the right plan in place. This training day covers: How to obtain an EHC plan What should an EHC plan look like? What information should a plan contain? What to do if you are not happy with an EHC plan How to appeal to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal The training session is presented live by a member of our legal team, with plenty of opportunity for questions. Once you have submitted your booking request, you will receive an email holding your place and requesting evidence of your address, for example: utility or council tax bill, bank statement, drivers license etc. Please reply to this email with a photo/scan of your proof of address within 48 hours, or your place will be automatically released.
