Training For parents and carers Upcoming training events for parents and carers EHC plan masterclass - existing plans: 29th September Aimed at parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), this one-day training has been developed as a guide for parents who already have an EHC Plan in place for their child. From looking at the information a plan should contain, through to how to achieve that through annual reviews, re-assessments and appeals to the SEND Tribunal, this training day will help you navigate the system, supporting you to make informed and positive decisions regarding your child’s education. The training covers the following topics: What should an education, health and care plan look like? What information should it contain? What to do if you’re not happy with a plan Using the annual review Requesting re-assessment Appealing to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal When asked what they liked most about our training, an attendee at a recent virtual session said: "The trainers professionalism, organisation, clarity and knowledge, as well as her readiness to answer many of our questions, and the quality of her answers. Her pleasant manner and the ease with which she was delivering her presentation. Today's training took us far, much farther than we have travelled so far with our child's EHCP. Thank you!" Please note, the training relates to the law as it applies in England. This virtual training will only go ahead provided there are sufficient bookings. We will offer an alternative date or refund if this session is cancelled. This training is not appropriate for those such as local authority staff who may be responding to the rights of a parent or young person. Our Local Authorities SEND Law one day training has been developed specifically for local authority staff. This event is full, please see our other training courses for more dates.
