The Tribunal Helpline is closed for the summer holidays on Monday 15th August and will reopen on Thursday 1st September.

As from Monday 5th September our telephone helpline numbers will no longer be in use for you to call our volunteers.  We are very aware that there is a high level of demand for this service and it can often be really difficult for people to get through on our phone lines, leading to a lot of frustration.   With this in mind we will therefore be offering all telephone help via a call back system, where you will be able to book an appointment slot to speak to one of our volunteers.  The new system means that we will be able to offer more slots than we do currently, which should mean that it is easier for you to speak to someone at a time which is convenient for you. The slots will be available to book here.

Tribunal Helpline:  0845 602 9579

Calling our 0845 Tribunal Helpline will cost no more than 7p per minute plus whatever your phone provider charges you to access an 0845 number. Please be aware that your call provider will charge for access even if your call is not answered.

IPSEA’s Tribunal Helpline is dedicated to giving advice and support when you are in a Tribunal situation. You may be making a Tribunal Appeal against a decision made by your LA concerning your child’s special educational needs, or you may be making a Disability Discrimination claim.

When you call our Tribunal Helpline, an IPSEA Volunteer Adviser will listen to your reason for calling and assess where you are in the Tribunal process. They will give you next step advice on preparing your case.

Our volunteer will also assess whether you need support from an individual IPSEA Volunteer Caseworker.  Demand for our free Tribunal Casework Support is high. We assess each individual family’s needs and their case complexity in order to make the best use of our Volunteer Caseworkers.

Tribunal Helpline opening hours:

Thursday 1st September: 10am -1pm

Friday 2nd September: 10am - 12pm
