It highlights key elements of the legislation, illustrated with practical examples.

  • To assist local authorities to interpret and apply the legal requirements of the Children and Families act 2014 to some key decisions.
  • To highlight important elements of the legislation, illustrated with practical examples, and provide an opportunity for open discussion and problem solving.

This training looks in depth at:

  • The decision to assess
  • The EHC needs assessment process
  • The decision to issue an EHC plan
  • The format and content of a plan
  • The SEND Tribunal: Single route of redress national trial
  • The decision about naming an education provider
  • Decisions on annual reviews

This training relates to the law as it applies in England.

Duration: 6 hours (10.00 - 16.00, including breaks and Q&A)
