IPSEA will be running a training day for parents, carers (and supporting family members) in Bury on the 26 November 2019 at Bury2Gether.

Our one day training is designed specifically for parents, carers and supporting family members, providing you with an introduction to the law on special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and empowering you to secure the right education for your child.

Delivered by a member of IPSEA's expert legal team, the training explains what your local authority and education setting should be doing to help, the process of obtaining an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan for your child, and also looks at what an EHC plan should contain.

The content is particularly relevant for parents and carers who are looking to secure additional support at school and/or an EHC plan for their child, but would also be suitable for those who already have a plan in place and would like to learn more about the law and how it applies to children and young people.

Please note, the training relates to the law as it applies in England.

This training is not appropriate for those such as local authority staff who may be responding to the rights of a parent or young person. Our Local Authorities SEND Law one day training has been developed specifically for local authority staff.

The day will start with registration at 9.45am. The training will begin at 10am and end at 2.30pm. There will then be a question and answer session until 3.15pm.

You will need to bring a packed lunch or make your own lunch arrangements. Tea/coffee will be available on the day.

Booking for IPSEA Training usually close 2-3 days in advance of the training date and are removed from our website. We strongly encourage you to book as soon as you can, as once dates are sold out, we are unable to increase numbers.

Kindly supported by Bury2Gether.
