IPSEA will be running a Training Day for Parents, Carers (and supporting family members) in Birmingham on the 19 October 2018.

This page was updated on 30/07/2018 with a revised training date of Friday 19th Oct.

This training will be held at Council House, Council Chamber Birmingham, Victoria Square, Birmingham B1 1BB. It will provide parents, carers and family members of children and young people with all types of special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) with an introduction to the law relating to the education and training of children and young people with SEND.

You do not need any previous knowledge of SEND Law, but you must be the parent, carer or family member of a child with SEND.

This training will clarify and explain the legal framework of the Children and Families Act 2014. If you are the parent, carer or supporting family member of a child/young person with SEND, our training will help you navigate the legal framework to ensure that your child gets the right educational support to meet their individual needs.

Download the agenda for the training here.

Please note: The day will start with registration at 9.45am. The training will begin at 10am and end at 2.30pm. There will then be a question and answer session until 3.15pm.

You will need to bring a packed lunch. Tea/coffee will be available on the day.

Kindly supported by Birmingham City Council's SENDIASS Team.
