Independent Panel for Special Education Advice (IPSEA) Defending children's right to special education provision

On his mark for IPSEA

Steve's effort reaps £1k reward for disabled children!

Steve's Great North Run raised over a thousand pounds for the benefit of children with special educational needs. Many thanks to all who sponsored Steve - and of course to Steve himself!

Parent and distance runner Steve Williams raised money for IPSEA by taking part in this year's Great North Run in Newcastle. Steve explains why he ran for IPSEA :

Our son, aged ten, has Asperger's Syndrome and an IQ of 150--160. This combination of needs makes teaching him difficult. We heard about IPSEA from friends whose children also have complex needs. IPSEA gives clear advice to those who care for people with complex needs, and they are skilled in giving this advice. Sympathy is valuable and helpful, but concrete, knowledgeable guidance is priceless. We particularly welcome the concentration on providing advice and support to those on low incomes or those who may find it difficult for other reasons to get the provision their children need and are legally entitled to receive. That is why I decided to do the Great North Run (13 miles) for IPSEA!

If you still want to sponsor me (a pound a mile would be great!) please send cheque made out to IPSEA to:

IPSEA, 6 Carlow Mews, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12.
