Welcome to IPSEA’s on-line information service.
This is an email-based information service for parents who are facing difficulties securing a statutory assessment of their child’s special educational needs and / or getting the appropriate provision to meet those needs. IPSEA's on-line information service will provide up-to-date information on the law and what it allows you to do.
This service does not offer individual advice or the option to ask for someone to call you back. You cannot access advice or support regarding appeals to the SEND tribunal via this service.
The on-line information service will provide information on:
- Your rights as a parent of a child with special educational needs;
- Your child’s rights;
- Local Authorities’ duties towards children with special educational needs and their parents;
- The duties of schools towards children and their parents.
If you need to discuss your individual case and are seeking advice about what to do next, you should call IPSEA’s Advice Line. If you are seeking advice about making an appeal to the SEND tribunal you should call IPSEA's Tribunal Helpline.
