IPSEA's Advice Line is covered by 1 or 2 volunteers working from their own homes or at the Universities of Westminster and Durham (where IPSEA runs projects with fully trained law students.) If the line is busy, you may hear a message on an individual's or University's voicemail. Please ignore these messages and try calling again a few minutes later. If the line is engaged, our volunteers are busy. Try calling again later.
IPSEA’s Advice Line is the number to call with any question or problem you have concerning your child’s education, unless you are in a Tribunal situation. We have a dedicated tribunal help line that you should call if you are appealing.
The current top 5 issues being raised on the Advice Line all have resources on the IPSEA website for extra help. You can find advice on all the issues below in "What you need to know" and "How to Take Action":
1. Home/school transport
2. Proposed statements
3. Failure to provide support on SA or SA+
4. Exclusion – especially informal exclusion
5. Lack of LEA funding for SEN
You are encouraged to call the Advice Line as often as you need to.
