How we can help

Are you a parent of a child with special needs? Do you have problems with their education? IPSEA's trained volunteers give free, legally based independent advice and support in England and Wales.

General Advice Line: 0800 018 4016 Mon to Fri 10am – 4pm, plus Mon to Thurs evenings 7pm – 9pm
Advice on: Problems with schools; requesting statutory assessment; proposed statements; annual reviews; possible disability discrimination; exclusion from school, etc.

Tribunal Help Line : 0845 602 9579  Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs 10.00 – 1.00pm                                                                Next-step advice on SEN appeals and disability discrimination claims to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal. When you call we will assess whether you need casework support.

Our help lines can be busy as we generally have just one or two volunteers covering them. You may find what you need by looking at our website resources on common problems, how to complain, exclusion and refusal to assess.
