Advice Line
0800 018 4016 IPSEA’s Advice Line is our “front line” service for parents. It is covered by a fully trained IPSEA volunteer adviser five days a week, including some evenings. The advice line operates from one central freephone number that is diverted by volunteers to their own home using a remote control diversion system.The current top 5 issues being raised on the Advice Line are:
1. Home/school transport
2. Proposed statements
3. Failure to provide support on SA or SA+
4. Exclusion – especially informal exclusion
5. Lack of LEA funding for SEN
Tribunal Help Line
0845 602 9579 IPSEA’s tribunal help line is the number that parents call when they are in a Tribunal situation where they Have a right of appeal triggered against a decision made by your LEA concerning your child’s Special Educational Needs; or are making a claim of Disability Discrimination.
The tribunal help line volunteers listen to the reason for calling, assess where parents are in the tribunal process and give next step advice in preparing a case for tribunal. They also assess whether paremts need the support of an individual IPSEA volunteer caseworker
Tribunal Support Service
IPSEA tribunal support casework volunteers provide individual support to the family whose case they take. Our Tribunal Support can only be accessed by calling our tribunal help line. If our assessment is that parents need this support, it will be provided throughout the tribunal process - including representation at a hearing if needed.
